Barbara A (Floyd) Coughlin, of South Road in Bedford, passed away on Wednesday June 30, 2021. Born in Medford on July 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Ray) Floyd. Barbara grew up and married in Arlington, then moved to Bedford in 1961, where she lived for the rest of her life. She was the wife of the late John (Jack) Coughlin. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked for many years in the Bedford school system and was beloved by many of the children in the town. Barbara was active in Cub Scouts, the Council on Aging, and The Bedford Social Club, where she had many friends and participated in many trips and activities. She was a gifted baker and crafter, displaying her creations at many bake sales and craft shows. She is survived by her son Michael Coughlin and his wife Nicole Fortier; her daughter Dorothy (Coughlin) Earl and her husband Jerry Earl; her daughter Patricia Coughlin; grandchildren Matthew Coughlin, Melissa (Earl) Friel, Mitchell Coughlin, and Jessie (Earl) Chapman; and great grandchildren Archer and Matilda Friel; and Lenore Chapman. Barbara was predeceased by her siblings: Ethel McKinney, Winfred Winters, Arthur Floyd, and Betty Duval. Family and friends attended visiting hours and a prayer service in Shawsheen Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. Burial was in Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford.
