Obituary of Philip H. Ballou
Philip H. Ballou, age 83 of Stuart, Florida (formerly of Bedford) passed away suddenly on Sept 12th, 2015. He will be missed by many and remembered always. He was the husband of the late Susan Ballou. He is survived by his four children, Christopher, Philip, and Jean Ballou, and Eleanor Dee. He leaves 5 grandchildren: Philip Blaisdell, Michelle Young, Ryan Dee, Jacqueline Erdos, and Daniel Ballou, as well as 7 great grandchildren: Philip Christopher and Brooke Blaisdell and Scott, Matthew, Adam, and Paige Young. Also survived by four brothers: Joe, Frank, Leo, and Donald, and his sister Marilyn Ballou. Son of the late Leo and Margaret Ballou, he is predeceased by two sisters, Helen Simmons and Irene Reardon. Phil owned and operated a distinguished business as a Building Contractor /Master Carpenter in the Bedford area for over 50 years. He will always be remembered for his sunny disposition, his positive attitude, and a genuine love for his profession. He was very devoted to his family and friends and he will be sorely missed by all. Phil loved golfing on a Wednesday league in Stuart, Florida and Sunday mornings at the Patriot Golf Course in Bedford and Bolton Springs golf course in Bolton, MA. He was an avid reader and enjoyed taking care of his lawn and gardens. He was a member of The Mystic Wellington Yacht Club in Medford, MA and loved boating Boston Harbor and the Charles River with family and friends. For many years of his younger life he joined his brothers and dear friends on their annual hunting weekend in Northern New Hampshire. A Celebration of his life took place in Stuart, FL, on Sept 16, 2015. Burial was in Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford, August 2020.
